What’s up with that?

Is it just me, or does 467 seem like an awfully small number of donors for such a popular resource?

I was looking over the blog’s usage stats from the past month and noticed that there was a large horde of folks that came this way courtesy of DC Blogs. Thanks!

Mac OSX has been running flawlessly since I purchased my MacBook over a year ago, but my Windows virtual machine (just like my dedicated windows laptop) has had a bevy hiccups and crashes.
Thankfully, scrubbing a virtual machine isn’t too big a hassle. Still, I can’t help but laugh–angry monkey laugh–at this bit of Orwellian newspeak as I do yet another Windows reinstall.

Happy day. My plan for wireless teaching has finally come to fruition. Most classrooms at UB are setup with LCD projectors. Unfortunately, the cable for the projector is inevitable nowhere near where I want to be while teaching. It’s not a problem with Keynote presentations, since I can just use my remote clicker for advancing slides, but often I want to do more interactive work… diagrams, concept maps, record class ideas, run statistical tests, etc. Well, I’ve finally amassed all the bluetooth goodies I’ll need to be un-tethered from my laptop (keyboard, mouse, and graphics pad). Of the lot, my favorite is Apple’s new bluetooth keyboard.
I usually respond well to feedback, and when worse comes to worse, there’s always the option of a quick sarcastic vent to free up the mind and get back to focusing on work. Take, for example, my mock course revision this afternoon:

It turns out that having a child may not be the most conducive thing toward regular blog postings. Who knew?
Well, I’m back, and determined to be a bit more prolific (what other direction is there to go?) with posting tidbits. So, for starters, here are three things that caught my attention this morning:
* For a nice bit of UB creativity, check out the introduction video created for UB’s orientation, Good Morning (University of) Baltimore.
* Facebook has a handy new iphone interface, so my friends now know far more about the minutia of my day then they probably are even remotely interested in.
* MarsEdit, a Mac-based blogging client that is simplifying juggling posting to three blogs (this blog, my professional research blog, and my academic program’s blog).
Speaking of things to make my blogging life easier, if anyone happens to have a spare invitation to the beta program of Plasq’s Skitch application that they’d like to pass along, please drop me a line.
