I always vote, and being a civil society junkie, I always get a bit misty-eyed in the process. But today’s election was special. It was the first time a candidate I supported in the primaries was there to vote for in the final presidential election. Happy day.

As a professor, I’m a sucker for a really well done explanation of a complex topic. Examples:

* Paddy Hirsch, Marketplace’s Senior Editor, does a fantastic job of untangling credit default swaps.

* This American Life’s phenomenal job of summarizing the housing crisis in its Giant Pool of Money episode.

* Top Gear’s (my new favorite series) Jeremy Clarkson on motorcycles. (Ok, so this one is tongue-in-cheek.)
